Restaurants: Creating Worldwide Appeal and a Sense of Home

When you travel, it feels as if there are two worlds: your home and the rest of the world. When you step into a restaurant, this feeling is echoed, and it changes based on which restaurant you are in. Right around the corner from home, a restaurant may feel like you are in Thailand eating pad Thai, in America enjoying a cheese burger or in France eating snails. In other cases, you may be half way around the globe in a spot full of Aussies that makes you feel like you are back home. Hi, my name is Betina, and I love eating out and travelling. This blog looks at everything related to those concepts. It talks about the sense of home and away in restaurants. Whether you are a diner or a restaurateur, I hope you enjoy the diverse posts I include in this blog.

Two Benefits Of Holding Your Kid's Next Birthday Party At A Restaurant

by Melinda Lawson

Commemorating your child's birthdays with a party each year is bound to become a memorable tradition as they grow up. But face it — as children grow, so does their circle of friends. Moreover, the older the kids are, the more of a mess they are likely to make with each passing birthday! Nonetheless, this does not mean that you should stop celebrating their big day. Instead, consider moving the venue away from your home and into a restaurant. You could be thinking that opting for a different location, more so a restaurant where you have to buy food, will be expensive, but the reality is that not only can it be affordable, but it is worth the cost, too. Here is a brief list of reasons why your kid's next birthday party should be held at a restaurant.

The clean up is not your responsibility

Parties are messy. Irrespective of how tidy you are or how careful your child is, you are bound to find crumbs on the tables, spills on the floor, paper plates and cups strewn everywhere, and a host of other messes that you would have to contend with once all the guests leave. Thus, in addition to the stress tiresome job of setting up the décor, decorations and seating arrangements, you also have to summon additional strength to tidy your home. When you choose to host your kid's birthday party at the restaurant, you will not be responsible for any cleanup when it ends! Moreover, you could request the staff to help you pack all your belongings for you, such as leftover cake and prezzies, so that all you need to do is go home and head straight to bed.

Set a definitive end time

When you host your child's birthday party at home, likely, you will always have stragglers hours past the time the festivities ended. More often than not, the people that tend to linger behind happen to be friends to the parents. Hence, you may be incapable of asking them to leave since you may feel guilty for kicking people out after they made time to attend your kid's party. If you do not want to have to play host once you are tired of mingling with people, then you should have the birthday party at a restaurant. Venues that host kids birthday parties will typically give you a time slot for your party. Therefore, you can inform your friends about what time they can come with their kids and have a definitive end time for the party!
